UNA COZZA
Mussels are filter-feeders, they are the wastewater treatment plants of the oceans, they suck in all the gunge and deal with it – and some people eat them… yuck! The debates during the long weekend in Castiglione della Pescaia revolved around the role of bivalves. It was also sprinkled with shopping tips and the best ever ciaccina. Jo, Deborah and Pam eventually arrived after getting themselves lost in some national park and faffing round the Argentario! A weekend to be repeated.

Punt Ala
The weather was GREAT of course... :-(

WWF reunited
Jo and Cris, happy at the beach.

3 cozze?
Deborah and Pamela in paradise over their bowls of mussels.

Why is Massa Marittima nowhere near the seaside?

Massa Marittima so far from seaside ? I had often this question, and did'nt find any reply on my documentation ; it's at 20 km from sea, and 400 m high ; I can't imagine any sand expansion like Ostia Anticca, it's quite different there... I thought that It was for differenciation from the other Massa, out of north of Pisa, except that this one is quite closer to sea than Massa Marittima... So ??? But may be you know already the answer ...

Well, passing time at cow's bums is may be the price to pay to live there... For this matter, I would be ready to check as much fannies as you want, ... yes, cow's ones also...

Lastly, and just to make a nasty comment to your paradisiac description of Volterra, I hope you didn't forget to see the two jails... One inside the heavy walls of Volterra, always in fonction, and a quite new one in the valley, at a few kilometers out of there ; some of the most dangerous criminals of Italy are guessed there...

But this was just my bad boy behaviour... Volterra is so lovely...
