In the 70's when it was build, particular architecture of Pompidou center was... let's say diversely accepted (this is more than an understatment...). A famous sentence then was that at the top of Pompidou center you had without any doubt the most outstanding sight on Paris... since it was the only place where you wouldn't see it... :-)
